ABOUT OUR TRIP

I thought I should add a few notes to this website for those of you interested in the details of our trip.

After being in Europe staying at AirBnBs , plus a river cruise and then we stayed with friends Susy and Chris in Zurich.  We next took the train from Zurich to Paris and due to a rail strike we flew from Paris to Gatwick.  First night in England was in Marlow in an AIrBnB – a barge on the Thames.  Next was an AirBnB in Oxford when we stayed in a lovely old farmhouse.  In Oxford, Ginny did some research looking for details of her great great great grandmother.

We moved onto Mevagissey, a delightful fishing village in Cornwall where we had an apartment for a week.  Mevagissey was the most delightful costal village we have come across.  We used Mevagissey as our point for exploring Cornwall on their EXTREMELY narrow roads.

After leaving Cornwall we plan to go to Dartmoor National Park, Exmoor National Park, Bristol, Bath, Cotswolds, Brecon Breacon National Park, Snowdonia National Park, Peaks National Park, Lakes District, perhaps north to Scotland then down the east coast to London.  Well that is the idea at this stage.

We have a rental car and after bringing our 2 person tent and sleeping bags from Australia, we had to buy a few things so we could cook and sleep comfortably.  The shopping list included air mattresses, pillows, gas stove, gas cylinders, plates, bowls, washing up equipment, ice car fridge plus ice.

There are plenty of fantastic camping grounds and camping farms in unbelievably beautiful settings and out-of-the-way villages.  We are meeting so many lovely interesting travellers.

A fabulous way to travel.
