DARTMOOR – EXMOOR – BATH – BRISTOL – COTSWOLDS
So you can see we have covered a lot in the past weeck and some amazing scenery and fantastic English towns and villages. Our aim this trip has been to spend less time in the major cities and get into the country. (Our mini Escape to the Country). So here are just a few of the photos from the past week.
Our first night camping at a beautiful village of Lydford. View took in the ranges in the Dartmoor National Park.
Lydford
Lydford Church established initially by the Anglo-Saxons in 649AD. The church was enlarged in the 13th century, the tower being added in the 15th century. A further enlargement occurred c. 1890 with the addition of the vestry and northern aisle.
Onto Exmoor National Park and the beautiful town of Lynton. Our campsie there beside the stream.

Walking into Lynton from our campsite – rugged steep cliffs and houses perched amazingly…..spectacular!
Rail cars using water pressure to go from Lynton (top) to Lynmouth (bottom). Note the curve in the track as the carriages pass – yes they always pass in the same spot.
